How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF you want to number. The tool shows how many pages it has.
  2. Pick a style (1, Page 1, 1 / 12 or Page 1 of 12), a position such as bottom center, and a size.
  3. Set the first number and the page where numbering starts, for example page 2 to leave a cover page without a number.
  4. Add the page numbers and download the new PDF, named like report-numbered.pdf.

Questions

Can I skip the cover page?
Yes. Set Start numbering on page to 2 (or later). Pages before it get no number, and the first numbered page uses the first number you choose.
Will the numbers be upright on rotated pages?
Yes. If some pages are rotated in the PDF, the numbers are placed upright in the chosen position as the pages appear on screen.
Does adding numbers change my pages?
The numbers are added on top of each page. The existing text and images are not changed or re-compressed.
Can I use gray numbers instead of black?
Yes. Tick Gray instead of black for less noticeable numbers. You can also choose small, medium or large text.
Why can't I add page numbers to my PDF?
Password-protected PDFs cannot be changed with this tool. Remove the password first with software that has the right to open the file.
